General Summary
Twenty Four Carrots® is looking for an Equine Nutrition Sales Specialist who has a dynamic personality and extensive knowledge of equine nutrition to provide excellent service to our equine clients. Duties include visiting new and current customers to assess and monitor their equine feed programs, make suggestions to their feeding program and educating clients on the best nutrition for their horses. Will also visit retail stores providing equine support to clients who visit and solve any nutritional concerns or problems as well as other equine needs.

Proactively seek equine clients and service existing equine customers through farm visits. Utilize customer-focused interpersonal skills as well as equine knowledge to assess and meet customer needs.

Seek information to understand the full scope of customers' needs. Provide suggestions regarding equine needs and feed recommendations based on nutritional knowledge.

Handle general and many complex customer issues with skill and diplomacy. Escalate more complex issues to store leadership for assistance.

Provide equine support and product expertise to customers utilizing in-person farm visits, in-person retail store, telephone and social media. Communicate information regarding order status, product availability, current sales, promotions and events.

Provide excellent customer service to all inquiries and sales.

Plan and schedule equine events.

Provide assistance with a variety of other functions to support the team.
Requirements
Education: Associate's Degree in equine nutrition or experience equivalent.
Experience: Requires a minimum of two (2) years of sales experience in horse nutrition, horse care or related industry.

Able to consistently demonstrate customer-focused interpersonal skills, communicate in a positive and professional manner and resolve customer concerns effectively

Effective knowledge of specialized area(s) including equine

Able to learn and consistently demonstrate knowledge of facility guidelines and standard operating procedures

Able to learn and effectively apply knowledge of a wide variety of merchandise in order to correctly answer customer questions or varying complexity and make recommendations

Able to add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate percentages using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

Attention to detail

Able to speak, read, write the English language in a proficient manner
Work Environment
Extended hours and/or alternate work schedules may be required. Ability to report to work on time and in adverse weather conditions is required.
Physical Activities & Requirements

Continuously bend and stoop; manual dexterity (fingers and hands) and utilize repetitive hand motion with merchandise and tools; reach with arms and hands for extended periods; stand and walk for extended periods, at times may be on concrete or uneven surfaces; utilize eye/hand coordination; twist back and neck. Pull, push, lift, carry up to 50 pounds.

Frequently climb, crouch, stack, and sweep. Pull, push, lift, carry 50-80 pounds, may be assisted.

Occasionally balance, kneel and shovel. Pull, push, lift, carry 80-100 pounds, may be assisted.
Must be able to speak to co-workers and customers regarding operations and safety. Must be able to hear customer service phone calls, hand held radio, equipment and vehicle sounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Tools & Equipment
Hand held scanner, telephone, computer, printer, scanner, copier, fax machine, writing instrument, reports, logs, spreadsheets, merchandising diagrams and other tools and equipment as determined by specific location (such as point of sale terminal).
